Neighborhood

Summer Run Apartments are an integral part of the Foster-Powell Neighborhood located just 5 miles south-east of downtown Portland on the east side of the Willamette River. This Southeast Portland neighborhood’s trianglular shape is bounded by the corner of SE Powell Blvd, SE Foster Road, and 82nd Avenue. The neighborhood has gained the reputation of being ethnically diverse which brings the benefits of wonderful international restaurants and shops.

The building is within walking distance to Tri-Met’s public transportation. There are two different bus lines within close walking distance: Tri-Met’s 14-Hawthorne Bus Line and 10-Harold Street Bus Line as well as Tri-Met’s MAX Green Line. Several grocery stores are in the neighborhood including Stop n Save, Portland Fruit East, and Fred Meyer.

Enjoy a short walk to Eastport Plaza and take in a movie at Cinemark’s Century 16 Movie Theater. Play a round or two of golf, hit a bucket of balls at the two tiered driving range, or dine in the bar and grill at the Eastmoreland Golf Course just a 10 minute drive away.  For those avid readers just a half a mile north there’s the Holgate Public Library. The Foster-Powell neighborhood is home to many businesses. Enjoy delicious foods at the many restaurants some of which include the Arleta Library Bakery Cafe, the Super King Buffet, Pho Vietnam, Foster Burger, the Gyro House Mediterranean Grill, and Road Runner Barbeque and many more. It’s not hard to find a good cup of coffee nearby at Sandino Coffee Roasters, Pieper Cafe, Speedboat Coffee, Black Rock Coffee Bar, Starbucks, or Dutch Brother’s Coffee.

There are three parks in the community including Essex Park, Kern Park, and Laurelwood Park.

Summer Run Apartments are an important part of the Foster-Powell Neighborhood since opening its doors in May of 1984. We hope you’ll stop by to see our community and all the area has to offer. See you soon!
